JIWG working group meeting in Warsaw
On May 21-22, 2019, a meeting of the JIWG (Joint Interpretations Working Group) working group under the SOG-IS (Senior Official Group Information Security Systems) agreement took place at the National Institute of Telecommunications headquarters.
The SOG-IS agreement has 17 participants (16 EU countries and Norway) which ensures mutual recognition of security certificates issued by national evaluation and certification schemes for ICT products.
The JIWG is working out a common interpretation of the Common Criteria standards for security evaluations carried out in accordance with this standard in the field of smart cards and devices containing so-called security boxes. This group usually meets three to four times a year.
JIWG cooperates with the European Commission in developing regulations and guidelines. Examples of relevant areas are EU regulations on electronic signatures, digital tachographs and e-passports.
The meeting was attended by representatives from France, Sweden, Great Britain, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Norway, the Netherlands and Poland.
The Polish side was represented by dr inż. Elżbieta Andrukiewicz, Project Manager for the “National scheme for the assessment and certification of security and privacy of IT products and systems compatible with Common Criteria” (KSO3C) implemented by the National Institute of Telecommunications (IŁ-PIB), Research and Academic Computer Network (NASK-PIB) and the Lukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Innovative Technologies (Łukasiewicz – EMAG Institute) consortium.
